TomA
Hi, I've used a render farm to render a 2000 frame animation in Max with the default scanline renderer, with advanced lighting/radiosity etc. switched on. The frame sizes are 1500x1250. The frames have then been composed into an avi file with After Effects by someone else. The file size is 10gig!!! Does this seem ridiculously huge to anyone else or is it just me? Surely there's a way of rendering high quality videos into relatively small animation files? Cheers P
AJLynn
It's just uncompressed and high res. You could convert it to any of several compressed video formats and make it smaller. Why that particular resolution? It's not a standard HD format...
Crazy Homeless Guy
...but don't foget to archive the uncompressed version, because once it is compressed, it will never have the quality it once did.
TomA
Please forgive my complete ignorance but what does HD mean?
SandmanNinja
High Definition (or High Def) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_definition_television#High-Definition_Display_Resolutions There is a good chart there with resolution sizes
