p_4204
Does Max 2008 have any better way to address visibilty useing MR. Version 9 does not support visibility! I have to use the blend material work around which to me is insulting since Max is such a high end product If nothing new, does anyone have a better work around? SandmanNinja
Do you mean Renderable? Select object -> right-click -> object properties This should work regardless of render engine used.
SandmanNinja
[bows to Bri's knowledge...] So, hmm... I'm not sure I follow. I'll have to play with it. -joel (padawan in training)
p_4204
Thanks Brian, Can this then be edited with the track view-curve editor? By the way, I spent about an hour on you MBM site last night. I have learned MR on my own from v7 and get good results, but I plan to invest in your new videos because there priced so reasonable and I still want to improve from the ground up. Thanks for the info on this thread. Paul Parker Architectural Rendering | 3d Computer Rendering Edited July 17, 2009 by p_4204 Change link
p_4204
Brian, I did as you suggested but but a can not get the object to fade out in animation. That is the effect that I was really looking for. Now it is either on or off. Did I miss a step or is the cutout map not used for fading out? If not, what do you recomentd for a fade out (opaque to invisibly)? p_4204
Do I understand correctly? If my anim is 200 frames long the fade will be 200 frames long. I cannot have an anim 200 frames long and a fade that only runs 100 frames? ps, What do you mean by "set keyframe type" since cutout keyframes are not supported inv9 Paul
p_4204
Brian sorry to be so slow a getting this but...... If I copy your material and place it on anothe object it fades in the veiwport and the animation over 100 frames. Your original material does not fade in the viewpor ove 100 frames. Only in the animation. Also, I can not seem to duplicate this material Here is whatt I did: 1 Create shape 2 Select Arch Design matereal and give it a color 3 Select the cutout feature and add the rgb multiplyer 4 Open the rgb multiplier and change the top to black and uncheck the bottom chek box What am I missing The shape stays invisible Paul
p_4204
Okay I think I have it now You still have to use the auto key in the process it just doesn't leave a key in the trackbar, correct? Paul
