Ivan_m
Greetings! This is a project for a client and actually my first project posted in this forum. Pretty finished but still has some work... In the first picture I've used vray and vraySun, standart camera in the scene. PS - for levels and some post effects, there is also an ambient occlusion pass. I don't like how it looks...: In the second picture I've used mental ray, daylight system and standart camera in the scene and PS - for levels and some post effects: You may see the diference between them. I'll be thankfull if you comment the two renders and give some suggestions about both renders.
kippu
wont you get the same result in vray ....if you shifted the sun to the other angle and used a vray cam .....saying that ...i like the MR version and i am also shifting to MR for exteriors

demo38
No big vehicles for that owner! Lighting in the Mental Ray version is nice.

Tommy Burns
Very nice start and a good example of the differences between MR and VR. I use MR all the time and your images I think show why MR is much better lighting. The one thing that needs a bit of work is the glass reflections and the I.O.R Hope this helps
JamesTaylor
surely the only way to compare the 2 render engines is to render the images at the same time of day / with the sun location in the same place?? From what you have done i prefer the MR image, i have thought for some time MR seems to give more clarity to images (i know its down to the artist, but MR does seem to bring something extra than VRay). The MR image has much better depth between the shadow areas and sun lit parts, overall the building feels more physical
