hello guys

i usually work on small projects, i work for interior designers, architects and furniture designers, and i always have a problem with saying the price of work. now i know the prices per hour, but because of i don't have so big experience, i always worry to say amount for work.

i'll put here my couple of projects and i would like to know how many hours usually profesional 3d artists can spend for project like these. I spend maybe lot of hours but profesionals less, and so i want to say exactly time which is normal in industry. because in other case i can loos my clients.

attached files are small resolusion but in real they have good quality

thanks

I think at a pro level these should be achieved within a couple of hours if the furniture is from a library. I would also expect a pro to understand the nature of compression. These are so muddy I cant make out the quality of the image. If you are charging by the hour, my advise would be to change that. I always quote on the finished article so everyone knows where they stand.

Yep couple of hours with library models. Anyway, charging by the hour is quite a funny issue... the difference between a pro and amateur in 3D modeling lighting and scene setup and aditional retouch in PS is quite a lot time wise...

so being an amateur you can ask more money as the time to finish a scene will take you 4-5 times longer than someone already sitting in the arch-vis industry. Heh.

I go for final pricing - price per image.

thank you very much guys for your advice. i've got one more question, what you meen under pro and amateus?

yes i charge about from 8 to 16 hours for these work, but point is that rendering then takes time, and many time clients ask me change something, and again and again, most of them are not sure what they want.

OK there was one idea that charge by hours is not good, then ok how much should i charg for example for middle picture (or even for any other picture i provided), room with lots of furniture, i'm in Netherlands and i charge in euros, what is your ideas guys?

Heck, if there are people paying you for 8-16 hours to do those, go with it :)

;) you meen that there is nothing to do 8 to 16 hours? ;)

yes of course, some of them is not comersial, i made in couple of hours but some of them is comercial and clients ask me to do very cerafuly all the deteils. and i spend 8 or some time more

thanks for comment
