sygboe
Hi, i was just wondering if anyone uses an HDTV as a computer screen for 3D work? i saw my mates 38" tv plugged into his mac mini. with a wireless mouse and keyboard. it seems so much better sat on a sofa with a huge screen than being at a desk. i want one! AJLynn
Why not. You can get a 32" 1080p model and use a dvi to hdmi cable. I've got a 50" sxrd set that my laptop can plug into that has much better color than an LCD monitor but is too big to really work on, and there are a couple of companies that will soon release wraparound ultra-wide-aspect monitors that are really multiple dlp sets stitched together. There's very little difference between a tv and a monitor now. Years ago gateway tried to market a home entertainment pc by giving a of a 30" CRT svga and wireless peripherals - it was of course a complete failure - but since then the integration has snuck in from the other direction. AJLynn
50" is the smallest sxrd set I thought about the 60" and I know somebody with a 61" dlp, which is almost the same thing, but I don't think I could have got one of those up the stairs. Jeff Mottle
I think the problem with these larger sets is that you'd have to sit quite far away and they would likely not be as good as fine details.
