Chad Warner
We were hired to re-create some scenes from the movie "The Mist" for use in a game on the DVD launch website. It's a pretty simple shoot-em up kind of game, but fun to do as it was certainly different from our normal work. http://www.themistmoviedvd.com/ (click on the "play game" button) -Chad
Devin Johnston
Chad that was totally awesome, I've always wanted to work on a project like that. Tell us how you did it, what your process was, who you worked with all that good stuff!
Chad Warner
We were responsible for creating the sets (the store, parking lot, and roadway) Including the bugs, bug explosions, moving car, and sound effects. The people who created the website used our predefined animation paths and created the left, right, forward action, and the firing gun. We basically provided the pieces which are all controlled through flash. The best part about it is how much the mist obscures the simplicity of the parking lot and road. Devin Johnston
The store looked great, what software did you use to render it and how exactly did you create the walk through? Was it just an animation that was stopped at certain points or was it something more complex?

Chad Warner
Everything was rendered with Vray. The walkthrough was just a free camera with a spline as a trajectory, and then rotated around in plan as the camera moved forward. The flash developers used the keyboard controls to move the timeline forward and backward. We placed obstacles in key locations to make it appear as though there was only one way too move around.
