tomankubik
Dear cgarch comunity, I'm standin g in fornt of a question. Nowadays I'm Using Cinema 4D 7 XL, well I know it's very old version, but it is still enough for my clients (some of my works you can see at ww.jkm.sk). I'm thinking of to buy a new Cinema 4d 10 + Vray which is necesary for ma work, but is it worth it? I know all the advateges (it's faster, better results, better UI, etc.) but my question is. Is it worth to upgrade, when I'm currently using woftware which satisfied me and my clients needs? Thank for all advices
Tommy L
Can you download a test version to see how you like it?
Horhe
Dear cgarch comunity......but my question is. Is it worth to upgrade, when I'm currently using woftware which satisfied me and my clients needs? Thank for all advices If you and your clients are satisfied then I think theres no point in upgrading. BUT (your currently freelancing I presume) if you decide to move and work in a company (wheater being forced due to shortage of projects or changing to something new) you probably might stumble across software that is pretty much up to date and then problems might arise. Macer
Have there been any major revisions that affect speed of the software? Time = Money!
manta
how much is the upgrade...can you upgrade to just vray...I think that would be worth some money...I see some very nice stuff already with vray, I use it with max and love it...
AJLynn
If you don't feel limited by your current software, there's not much of an argument to buy an upgrade. But if you want more features - 64-bit, a finally-half-decent Autocad importer, a bunch of improvements in the advanced renderer, the option to get Vray - well, between 7 and 10.whateverthey'reonnow a lot of stuff had been added. Ernest Burden III
I'm thinking of to buy a new Cinema 4d 10 + Vray which is necesary for ma work, but is it worth it? In a word--yes. If you have no work then I'd say play it safe. But having the right tools for your business is critical to success. I started with C4Dv8.5, and while it was great, v10.5 is so much better. I keep v9.5 installed for some plugins that didn't make the upgrade, but mostly I use 10.5. I haven't used vray for a client work yet, even though I've owned it from the start, but I will. Probably tomorrow, actually. Upgrading to C4D v10.5 and adding vray is a worthwhile investment in your business.
tomankubik
thanks alot for all your opinions. well I know that there are alot of new stuf in the version 10.5, I have demo and also I'm in a close connection to comunnity in Czech and Slovak republic. But there are some facts for me. 1. I can't upgrade, because my version is too old to do that. 2. I have to buy new full version of 10.5 and VrayforC4D, togoether it's about 50,000 slovak crowns, which is mine salary for 2 months. 3. I made some agreements with future clients and I'm waiting only 2 major projects for architectural viz in the next 12 months, so income from arch. viz will be less than 20% of all my incomes. So I'm still waiting and thinking if I have to do this upgrade...well all other ideas will be very helpful...thanks
AJLynn
I think you'll know the time to upgrade when you can see how the upgrade will lead to an improvement in business that will increase your revenue. It doesn't sound like now is that time, if I'm understanding you correctly.
