Steven Holl - Kiasma WIP

Hoping someone can help. I've been trying to find a new challenge for a while to work on in my spare time. I wanted something with minimalist interiors that provided spaces which modulated natural light in an interesting way that would be fun to model too.

I've decided to go for Steven Holl's Kiasma Contemporary Art Centre in Helsinki because it has an interesting form and some truly monumental spaces.

Anyway I managed to come up with some plans and sections from a pretty unorthodox source, the 'search inside' section of a book on Amazon. They are just about useable though very low-res. The book is called 'Parallax' written by Steven Holl himself I think.

I will use them if I have to, but wanted to ask if anyone has a copy of the book and access to a scanner, could you send me some better quality images please?

I'm planning on posting a WIP throughout the modelling, texturing, lighting and rendering stages as I work through the process.

Sorry for the long-winded post and thanks in advance for any help! :)

You can find that book in any respectable architecture library or book store. I happen not to own it because I can't read any more Holl while maintaining what's left of my sanity :)

Alright, so I'm being a wee bit of a cheapskate! :p Going to check out my local reference library on Thursday, just thought I'd try and get a head start.

kiasma is a pretty well documented building, and a gorgeous one at that!

there would be a few dedicated articles on it in AR and Architectural Record I reckon, even try Domus and GA journals at a university archi reference library, you wont find much good on the internet in the way of useable plans and sections.

good luck!
