SgWRX
i'm using a blend material, but don't think that's entirely necessary, i think i could use a mix map as well. put the "short grass" bitmap from the max arch materials in each of the blend maps, then used a gradient ramp as the blend mask. added a uvw map to the plane, in this case 100" x 300" and it seems to work well, i could maybe make it a little smaller. oh, the stripes are achieved by changing the output of the bmp slightly different. both are turned way down due to use FG and mrsun mrsky, they are .35 and .45. the gradient ramp blends the edges together. SgWRX
no problem. i've tried it now on a few different ground planes and it takes some tweaking with uvw map but in the end i like the way it works out. haven't tried it yet from a big overhead scene yet.
