mattclinch
Hey all, Anyone know if it is possible too generate a tiles map where each tile colour/tone is randomly selected from a palette of 3 specific colours, rather than using the 'colour variance' option, which shifts the colour/saturation/lightness in a very randomised and unpredictable way. i realise this could be achieved with a map of the coloured tiles layed out to the same dimensions as the tiles map, but we may need to fine tune the size of the tiles map at a later stage to avoid tiling (irony!) and have lots of the same type of map and dont fancy rebuilding 15 tiles materials and their respective maps.. also dont want to have to slice up the geometry, so materialbyelement and multi-subs is out of the question... i've got a feeling it cannot be done procedurally, but would like to be proven wrong. ta! cleblanc
Created a nested tiles map. Then use the 'holes' number to vary the amount of 'holes' that let the nested map show through. In your case 3 nested levels would do trick. You will have to play with the holes number to get the right percentages. Chris
