Sketchrender
You need to emit from both sides generally, and bump it right up for the use of vray physical cameras. phil

Tyorl
ah iv just had this problem as well with phys cam, hadnt noticed it before what do you do when you want the vray light mat visible but dont want it affecting GI with the high multipliers you need to make it visible? make it not generate GI? thanks When u are usin Vray phiscam, i have to set mult for VraylightMtl up to 2000 or higher becuase of exposure control. As for visible Vraylightmtl but not generating GI use VrayOverideMtl, see the manual or here: http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/vray_overridemtl.htm Basicaly for neon I use VrayOverideMtl with two VrayLightMtl - Base for color; GI to generate GI. Multipliers for base from 2000 to 6000(depend on your ISO/f-number/shutter speed) and for GI 10000 - 60000. Hope it helps.

FlickerStudios
When you get the vray light material. the multiplier wud be 1. In case it is black when you render the scene, then you have you increase the multiplier. it also depends on the camera settings, GI etc. so try increasing it from 1 to higher values(example - 50). if it is too bright then make it less value. *make sure the EMIT BOTH SIDES is on.. thanks enjoy

In that you can find GENERATE GI parameter which is set 1 as default. make it 0.2.. that will reduce the GI generation by that object.. thanks enjoy.
