Hazdaz
Maybe it is the older RPC library that we have, or maybe it's all RPC people, but they never look good from angles above 60-degrees or so - the come out distorted. Whats the deal?

Horhe
Maybe it is the older RPC library that we have, or maybe it's all RPC people, but they never look good from angles above 60-degrees or so - the come out distorted. Whats the deal? RPC people are not true 3d rather mapped images that are calculated back and forth in reference to the camera's position and the rotation of an RPC. They are intended and work only for ground/eye level shots and not aerials.
Hazdaz
^^ Oh, I understand how they work - basically they take a snapshot of their models every few degrees to give the illusion of being a 3D model of a person, but I was hoping that maybe they started taking snapshots from above too to give a better illusion of being real from bird's eye views. I guess not. I've checked out the AXYZ people and they seem quite improved over years past, but I have never really liked using 3D models of people - they always seem "cartoony" to me... or they look too much like game characters. I actually have a set of glass people that I prefer to use when I want more of an abstract look (rough silhouette of a person standing with a semi-transparent glass material), but sometimes realistic looking people is better... and unfortunately RPC is just not gonna work for many camera angles.
