ahmon
I see a lot of threads that complain about being under cut by extremly low prices. I also see many threads that vaguly explain how much you should charge. From: Calculating how much you need to survive (yearly) and deviding by hours and so on. How much you feel it is worth. How much you value your work. I could go on but lets not. This is my situation: I am full time in an architect firm and i want to start getting some side work for rendering. My firm does not care if i do and i have architectural classmates around the US that work in firms that needs renderings. I'm not a person that needs much at all, hell i give 5 dollars to bums on the street. I'm finding a love for doing renderings. I have done them for friends for little to nothing. If i am going to start offering this service/imposing on your market, i just don't want to "Phuc" over any one by charging too little. It's not about the money to me it is a plus but i don't want my position to hinder anothers main source of income. I'm thinking about, lets say: exterior rendering small $900 medium $1300 large $1600 interior rendering "i have no idea" But i saw one site that was offering $450 for renderings, they didn't go into any more detail about it. Was going to send one of our projects for a quote but didn't (still have that option). Are there any average numbers someone can throw out there. If not, no regrets, i get so many answers for this site it could be a class. Just wanted to ask this for those like me that already have the salary, 401k and health plan. Who just do it for fun. ARTECmedia
This prices $450 .. they came from China or India ..... Your prices are probably OK for US .. I don't know, but at this moment they are too low for Europe. For EU, you have to double it. Exchange rate USD-EUR is horrible. Personally I have few discontinued talks with US clients, because of high prices. Pity but it's true. Thats why you have to wait for someone located in US to give you the answers regards:)
rhodesy
There is also the cost of 'official' software licenses which can be quite expensive. Im not sure if you own full licenses of your software or not and don't want to get into that - it's not my business. but just something to consider if you are thinking about charging for your work on the side as it were and you don't yet own a licenses. But perhaps you already do and if so please ignore above.
