karl zacharias
any ideas on how to make the ceiling read white. the material applied is white, like the column, and if you pan up to a straight on view it looks white...but from this angle (as well as others) it appears grey. really don't want to go into photoshop fro this simple sk-up render. IDEAS? ps sorry for the small image...think it will be enough for this question ps2 didn't realize there was a sketch up forum...wrong place for this... BobM
Try right clicking on it and selecting reverse face, see if that works

AJLynn
Try using "Use Sun For Shading" in the sun control box and cranking up the dark. What it's doing right now is applying light to the surfaces based on their orientation. One thing you can do is make several output 2D graphics files - one with dark and light both cranked up, one in hidden line mode, maybe one with hidden line but the lines are turned off and the ceiling is hidden and shadows are turned on, etc., and comping it in Photoshop.
