annoying problem with vray sun please help!

I'm creating my first vray scene to try and learn how to use it. Everything has been going ok but I'm having a really annoying problem with vray sun brightening the ground too much.

 

For some reason the flat ground around my building is appearing an overly bright yellowy colour.and I can't figure out how to darken it. even if I apply a solid black vray texture to the ground it still appears a funny yellow colour.

 

ive attached the last render i did, believe it or not the plane has a solid black texture on it. I've tried lowering the planes "Recieve GI" value to as low as it can go, but even at 0 it still comes out this colour.

 

any ideas? ive attached my light/camera/render settings. thankyou kindly.

try select the ground plane and right click v-ray properties then reduce the Receive GI amount.

If you create a completely new scene with Vray sun without tweaking any settings, then make a new ground plane, and apply a texture, what happens?

 

...also, why a turbidity of 6? I doubt that is your problem, but it seems out of whack.

 

You also might want to upgrade to the latest version of Vray.

chutti - I've already lowerd this to its lowest

 

crazy homeless guy - I'll give this a try. Sun values were based an an example scene I found. Will lower this nearer to the default value.
