BrianKitts
I know that when I have a camera selected and I'm in a viewport, I can hit "C" to make the viewport switch to the selected camera.... but is there a way to do the reverse of this shortcut? If I'm looking at a viewport of a specific camera and I want that camera to become the object selected so that I can modifiy it's parameters.... is there a quicker way to do this, other than changing viewport, then finding and selecting the camera .....or pulling up the selection dialogue box, sorting by cameras looking to see what the name of the current viewport camera is and then selecting it from the list? Chad Warner
You can right click on the name of the camera in the viewport and choose "select camera" or "select camera target." I use this all the time.
Mechadus
There is a really nifty tool called the Selection Floater (in tools --> Selection Floater). It displays all the non-frozen objects in your scene, and it really makes intricate selections easy. -Nick

Mechadus
or just 'H' as a keystroke. That works too! My keyboard shortcuts are a bastardized combination of Max, Maya and Lightwave keys... MMmmmm.. Confusion... -Nick
BrianKitts
or just 'H' as a keystroke. thx for the suggestion.. that's my normal route.... but this scene has 20 cameras, and I'm tired of reading to find em
mattclinch
yea Brian, i was just simplifying Nicholai's route. Chad has the way to do it though.
Koper
here is another, don't know if you guys have used it. It is the same shortcut for creating a camera, ... but if you are in a perspective view looking for a shot, select a previous created camera and hit ctrl-C. Instead of a creating a new camera the selected camera is placed where the perspective view is, now do this over an animated time-line and you can very quickly set up many different viewpoints without having to touch the camera or camera target transforms. -- oh, the camera and target is adjusted to mach the perspective view
BrianKitts
... select a previous created camera and hit ctrl-C. Instead of a creating a new camera..... interesting, I've pulled the crtl-c to make a new camera before but I've never tried it to reposition an existing one. nice!
