Manage Scene States?

I have a scene that has two cameras. I got the lighting and etc the way I wanted it and saved the scene state. Then I got the second cmera view and it's associated lighting the way I liked it. Slightly cahnged the reflective properties of the window glass. Saved that as a second state.

When I revert to the first state, all of the materials in the material editor become no longer part of the scene and most of the mapping goes all wacky.

I'm using Max 9 with Vray 1.5 and Vray materials.

I'd like to use the mange scene states feature but it seems to cause to much trouble with having to get all the materilas from the scene back into the material editor and the weird effect it seems to have on mapping coordinates.

Anyone else have this trouble or any ideas on how I may not be using the manage scene state correctly? TIA

I'm sort of the same, I've switched to only using it to control light properties.

I found that when I used it to control materials, it would get funky, mostly when I updated my model through the file link manager. I'm not sure what part of the model itself would change but whatever it is, the tie between the scene states the materials and the file link just jacked EVERYTHING up when I tried to use the scene states.

But to control multiple lighting setups in one scene it's a charm. Right now I'm doing a large campus, w/ 20 cameras, and 5 lighting postions based on camera, I couldn't imagine queuing renderings without the scene states.
