RenderFriend farm is now available

Hello everybody,

 

This announcement is to let everyone know that RenderFriend officially joins the list of professionally managed render farms available to the 3D community at large. It's not our style to go off shouting like a Crazy Eddie advert, or slamming other render services in an attempt to get you to vote for us. We're simply here to offer another reliable source to get your jobs done in a timely and friendly manner. Our servers are all brand new Xeon dual quads ramped up with all the goodies. Our network is completely homogenous to help mitigate any unexpected floating point differences between processors. We will be rotating out our hardware every 18 months to keep on top of the latest technology and speed.

 

As an example, one of our test render clients had a project that he calculated would take 7.1 days to render on his Mac Quad system. We were able to get it done in 6.5 hours...he was jazzed.

 

I would like to note that we do offer nice academic discounts for some of our common rendering plans if you are a cash strapped student or an educator that teaches in a relevant field (even if you're not cash-strapped, if you are student you can take advantage of it).
