chow choppe
hi all i was just practising rendering animation with moving objects using passes for still and moving objects i did my still objects rendering by calculating LC first and the IR with multiframe incremental and then saving it and then rendering the final images afetr that i did the pass for moving objects using high settings and irradiance map and brute force solution i appplied vraymatte materials to the ground planes so as to receive the objects moving shadows. now i am facing a problem in storing the alphas for the shadows. these are the setting for my vray materialwrapper shadows on alpha contribution-1 affect alpha unchecked matte surface----on When i use these settings and render image i dont get alpha channel for shadows area but just the moving object as u can see in point 1 of attached image. now if i click on affect alpha in matte properties i get alpha of shadows as u see in point 2 of attached image. if u see the alpha is not white but transparent white. Now when i try to take this image into after effects and try to comp it over my original image i dont get the shadows as black but they are white and transparent. Can anyone tell me where am i doing wrong i am trying to learn this Thanks

Nic H
Hmm it should be really simple and it looks like you are doing it right allthough I always use vray material object properties rather than the material wrapper but I dont reckon that has anything to do with it anyways. What blending or overlay mode are you using in teh comp?
chow choppe
mode means? see step 3 in the image i had attached i use that option while importing to after effects thanks
