Claudio Branch
Yes. I animated some quite recently. I did a small grass "growing" test.
Devin Johnston
Care to give me some tips, how is it done?
Stephen Thomas
Yep, the parameters such as length, bend, gravity etc. can all be keyframed. Never tried it in an animation though, what are you trying to do? Make it grow? Simulate it moving? Sounds interesting!
Claudio Branch
For my test, I only animated a couple of parameters: Hair length and gravity. It's pretty straightforward keyframing. I just used the Auto Key function.
Claudio Branch
I wanted portions of my grass to grow at different rates. I played around with it for quite awhile in the Curve Editor adding different controllers to the Length and Gravity parameters. It didn't seem to matter. The grass behaved as one entity and I didn't really like what I was getting out of it. Probably just need to do more tweaking and experimenting, but I was out of time. Sound Familiar? Ricardo Eloy
One can always animate a map and use it to control the way things grow, bend, etc...
