phix95
http://3dquakers1.com/webroot5/review.php?id=1 If so is this one (archicd) a project or more general? Looks like the 2nd is an actual project. And will this translate well to Max 8 or 9?
BobM
Hi I have bought and tried all the Max Videos from 3dQuakers and found them to be very good and informative. Well worth the purchase price.
SandmanNinja
Ditto. Well, I have the 2 arch viz tutorials from 3D Quakers. One shows you tracing a floor plan and the offsetting the splines of the walls, etc. I did it several times. They are not long, which I liked because I don't always have a lot of spare time. But he covers making the walls (inner and outer), floor, ceiling, balconies, cornices, you name it. The other one was okay, but I was in an interior frame of mind when I got the videos and that one stuck out in my head.
kailyon
Do they translate easily to Max 9? I see that they were made for Max 6. I am not familliar with earlier versions of Max so I don't know what changes in the software would affect the techique used...
SandmanNinja
yup. Sometimes when a tutorial uses an older version, there will be a newer, easier way to do it with a more recent version of Max, but the process outlined in older tutorials will always work. Max is pretty good at maintaining backwards compatibility. There are some menu rollouts that I've never seen discussed or mentioned other than a comment "This is left in Max for backwards compatibility". Hehe Kimberly, I'd get these. Good way to get a floorplan from paper, to scanner, to max and then start tracing and making 3D with it... Think they're pretty affordable, too.
