Paul Twyman
Hi, I have found the BSP2 pretty good compared to the old but it still crashes when it runs out of memory. With that may polys I recon you could do with a bit more RAM or try breaking your scenes down into bits. Most the mental ray crashes i've had have been down to memory or a dodgy object. If it's happening in different scenes then it's prob memory. Another thing you could try which I don't think is ideal but I resort to all the time is rendering a final gather map at a smaller resolution, the new interface makes it a bit easier use as well. Hope this helps

manish_mv
Better turn off scanline it would increase speed and compatiblity. increase your memory limit too (prone to crash if dont have x64 max and os) try it
Justin Hunt
I have noticed scenes that needed BSB2 with Max2009, crash in 2010 but render fine with BSB. Some work has gone into handling large scene and rendering. I have a scene that would only render in 64bit with 2009 but renders fine in 32bit 2010. jhv
Crazy Homeless Guy
I have had lots of problems with Max2009, BSP2, heavy scenes, while using DBR. I am still try to test this in 2010. While trying to test, other issues with the scene crept up that I haven't worked through. Hopefully it is solid in 2010.
