luckytohaveher
3D Display 3DSMAX Please help -- I would really appreciated your deep insight and valueable experience, if you have any. I am looking to upgrade to full 3D Display in 3DSMAX (4D technically). I have two 21" high-res monitors. Due to cost considerations, I would like to go with a graphics card(s) solution and glasses, if possible. In addition, I have a strong bias towards NVidia graphic cards, if possible. Going with dedicated high-end monitors is not an option. I think the only solution is a shutter-type glasses approach with my existing 21" monitors. I have a dual output Nvidia card currently and have looked at the ForceWare Graphic Drivers documentation. However, it appears to only work in full-screen mode. This will not work in 3DSMax because you need the rendering dialogue, materials editor, pull-down menus, etc. in the regular windows 2D desktop interface (not game mode). In addition, I do some development and programming work which requires a simultaneous text editor. What I am really looking for is any insight you may have on brands, products, and solutions that would work really well -- with the confines of the hardware budget and physical restrictions. I really need your experience and insight, if you have any. Thank you very much for your knowledge! Edited May 9, 2008 by luckytohaveher
SandmanNinja
I'm red/green/brown colour blind. I feel your pain. Wow - dual 21-inch monitors. I found this link: http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t49309.html They seem to address a lot of your points.
luckytohaveher
Thank you fro the information and the research. It appears that that is still working only in games mode in full screen Direct-X or OpenGl mode. I was looking at Crystal Eyes. I am not just sure that it will work only in the viewports which is going in 3D? The rest of the screen, menus, pull-downs, etc, still need to be in 2D. I am REALLY SURPRISED in the lack of access, information, or unified solutions in this space, especially with all the new 3D game technology out there.
