the dark side is wicked;)

I'll just get extra cf cards. I just emailed myself with a photo thats already on the ipod and the resolution is pooo:eek:oor, but I think thats expected.

so i think it's not a good idea to download 400+ photos from a cf card and then get that resolution back

bummer

iTunes downsamples the images to make them smaller on the iPod. I'm pretty sure that as of a couple iTunes releases ago you can change that in a setting somewhere but I can't check on it now because I don't have all the stuff with me.

jailbroken:eek:, shame on you;), hehe

I think im staying legit with this ipod, it's too cool of a toy to mess up.

I have seen on youtube how the play quake on it with the wifi connection. and then they use the tilt sensors to move about. can't wait till apple makes it open source

well, jailbreaking it isn't an illegal maneuver, it just peaves Apple off a tad. and it really does open up your Touch to endless possibilities. All my answers i get from here - http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/

must admit though, they're not really gaming devices. games run awfully slow for anything decent you want to play, and, you find your fingers constantly get in the way. I only play solitaire and tetris.

it's great for viewing your architectural animations on :)

I have got 500MB of insperation images on it, when ever i get a new project i remember some images and has it instantly at my finger tips. just brilliant

I think it's going to become better as a game device as people work with the "real" SDK. Everything you get these days has been written using a bootstrapped system that's very impressive but that I wouldn't expect to take full advantage of the hardware.

This thing's got hardware OpenGL.

its funny, i wanted to drop a pin last night on google maps but just couldn't get to lift my finger at the right place.

I wonder how long its gonna take for a camera on these litle devices to pinpoint where your eyes are looking and then using it for a mouse

I've had mine almost since release, jailbroken, and its worked great the whole time.

as far as games, iSolitaire, Gemlogic, and Tris are decent. some of the iPhysics things are fun for a few minutes, or to amuse the toddler with. theres a NES emulator, but i dont like the lack of feedback/real buttons. makes it hard to use :)

As for real apps.. Books! Books! Books! the single thing that i think i use my ipot the most for now !! Its not too hard to convert ebooks to chaptered HTML's, and a fair set of books on repositories to choose from also. and its one of the slicker readers on the market. Hopefully one day they'll set up a distribution channel through itunes so you can read them all legit.

the iFlix netflix interface is easier/smoother to use than the webpage lol.

SwapTunes is another nice one, lets you sync up to 2 seperate computers. useful cause i'd much rather rip myself some dexter to watch while at the gym from the work 8core machine >:)

Mail/Weather/Maps copied over from the iphone, and WifiSwitch.. for 1 touch turning it on and off.. battery saver ;)

The dark side is fun

Oh, and don't forget this one - install OpenSSH and SFTP in. Go to /var/root/Media/iTunes_Control/Music and copy everything there to a local folder, then drag and drop it into iTunes. You've just copied the music collection from the iPod onto any PC. (Purchased DRM music won't work unless the iTunes has been registered but it's a convenient way to recover from a lost hard drive or put your music on your work PC.)

I've got a Mac so I use AFPD and my iPod shows up as a file server and I can transfer my eBooks in Finder.
