chadw
Hi all, Try as I might I have been unable to fix the speckling in this image. I have Irradiance Cache set to High using Light Cache as my secondary bounce set moderately high, and am using QMC adaptive sampling set at 3 and 6 respectively. Thanks for the help. kippu
any problematic material? what are the values of the irradiance map?
Brian Smith
image sampling is definitely not the problem...that only controls fine granular noise. looks to me like you have a vraylightmtl in your scene. i don't recommend this because it requires very high GI settings to prevent noise. i'm guessing that you're using it for your ceiling light fixtures. would use a standard self illuminating material instead and real lights. chadw
No bad materials... Irradiance is set to preset High, so min max respectively -3,0. When rendered at a low resolution none of the noise shows up.... this is only occuring at high res.
chadw
oddly enough no light materials at all. The cans in the ceiling have lights in them, but no material.
chadw
with regard to the materials in the scene.... this came from Revit and has some architectural materials in the model.... could those cause this?
Brian Smith
with regard to the materials in the scene.... this came from Revit and has some architectural materials in the model.... could those cause this? do you mean the 'Architectural' material type. If so, change to vray materials. That is a horrible material type to use with or without vray. Make sure you do a complete scene convert to vray materials if you havent already. chadw
Yeah Architectural Material type..... I stupidly only changed what is visible in the scene and left myself open for something to bite me in the butt. I think I found my problem though.... a light block from revit which apparently at one point had a light attached to it but no longer does and is now angry geometry. Thanks for the help.
