xp 64,

8GB RAM

that would run 3ds 2009 64bit

 

I've

1. personally built a Q6600, xp 32, 3ds 8 system last summer dont really want to build another system again, wasnt really that enjoyable..(my fingers are to big i think:)

 

2. called dell, said they dont build 64 bit stations..

That's your problem, you talked with a sales person

They're not trained for the products that 1% of their customers buy.

Well you're overall problem there is that you called Dell That link from Slinger will give you what you need, but I'm NOT a fan of Dell by any means. I'd look at HP first. But that's just my personal preference.

Hey we Have 64bit dell workstations, they are duel Q9675's 8gb ram good graphics ect ect, as posted before, the problem is you talked to a sales person alot of them wont even know what 64bit is never mind building you a worksation of this magnatude

I run both 64bit Armari and Scan's 3XS machines and they work great. I would recommend either.

any 3ds benchmarks comparing Intel Quad Core Xeon E5405 vs Quad Core Q6600??

 

tried Tom's Hardware but didn't see any Xeons..

We use Dell computers and have been getting XP64 and Vista Ultimate-64 boxes from them. I would prefer BOXX computers but we have a corporate thing with Dell for all of our office. When I go out on my own, I will either build my own or go with BOXX.

 

In an odd circumstance, the BOXX Technologies HQ is about a half mile from our office and Dell is about 5 miles away.
