Hotel - Exterior

Work in progress for a new hotel to pass a town committee. Not finished in my opinion, but client wanted no cars, people, etc. and a 3 day turnaround time for a 24x36 print. Would love to take it to completion, but now, I have no "free" time to do more. C&C welcome :)

Best regards, JR

The building looks good its just the foreground that lets it down.

Also I know everyone says straighten your verticals but it almost looks like your building is falling outwards, I think if you take a touch of the verticals so they just slant in slightly that would help as well.

Also think maybe the compsition would be stronger if you focus more on the front of the building and a little bit less on the side, try getting the main corner a third of the way across your image.

Thanks for the C&C folks! I really hope to do more on this one day, so these comments are great, and I hope to address some of them. Just to give you an idea of what the client started with, they said, no shadows, no reflection, no cars, plants, site, etc.

I guess it does look a bit office-like...perhaps true, not my design. I also did not really love the 1st image (the printed one) but it was what they requested.

There is a mixture of Onyx, Evermotion trees, and some Pflow shrubs/trees/flowers. Second image does have slight DOF from Vray physical camera. I used Vray sun and Vray sky (used a daylight system) to try different times of day/evening. Of course, the client wanted a sunny one, although there were some neat looking dusk and sunrise tests. I think I used IRmap/LC but might have used QMC/LC for the second image...

So, to summarize comments so far; Improve/change view, entourage, asphalt, grass, fake the camera correction.

Thanks again,

JR
