danb4026
I am putting together my own box to act as a render slave. I have a Quadro 1700 and Core 2 Quad going in. The box i bought has a 500w power supply already installed. Will this be sufficient? On Nvidia, they recommend a min 450w power supply for the quadro. martincg
500 W is really enough for your PC - quadro 1700 is one of low power consumption - just 42W

It really depends on your total system build, but for the most part a 500W power supply is more than enough for even a mid-range SLI setup with a pair of those video cards.. As long as you're not running a dozen hard drives and have every other slot filled with a sound card, Physics engine, modem, network card, etc, you should be fine..
