ice_9
Importing problem?! well, since the new ADT2009 package doesn't include VIZ, the "Link To Autodesk VIZ Render" option is gone... So, i've tried linking it directly in 3dsmax, but it seems max2008 doesnt have an Object Enabler to recognize AECobjects, and i get only the bounding boxes of the aec definitions.. There isnt an Enabler on the autodesk support page to download, for the new versions of max. What i do now is convert the whole project to 3dsolids then import it in 3dsmax and of course i loose all the names of the objects, there are many bugs after convertto3dsolids operations and so on...Cant imagine what will happen with a bigger building with 500walls and more.. Any help with those Objects Enablers? Which 3dsmax versions could have compatible OEs, or does anybody know an intelligent way to import ? thx
gfa2
sounds like you might have to wait for the object enablers....typical Autodesk.

1d2d3d4d
with the aec objects in autocad, make sure the dwg file is saved in an isometric view when linking the file to max...
ice_9
thx, bu the trouble is by importing in 3dsmax, not exporting from cad
1d2d3d4d
ive had problems with file linking/import and with aec not showing up so i learned to save in isometric to keep the 3d data... when you save in 2d you get 2d import/link when you save in 3d it imports/links 3d...give it a try...i use autocad adt 2002 and max 7 but the problem seems the same,,,good luck ,,,technology is a constant struggle
