RyanSpaulding
Hey guys, Ex-MicroStation user here. I'm trying to figure out the ACad equivilent of MicroStation's 'k' or keypoint funtion where you can set the number of keypoints along a line or spline. This was great for balconies whose path was curved, or if you had a window that had and odd number of mullions... So how do you do this? Say you wanted a balcony post to be placed 20 times along a curved line or spline...how is this done in AutoCAD?
neko
divide or measure command divide will place points (nodes) at equal spacing based on overall length measure will place points at pre-defined distances along the length of the object make sure to change your point style (PDMODE) to something like 3, or you won't see the points on the spline. the object snap 'node' will allow you to snap accurately to these points

Chad Warner
You can also use a block in place of a node with the divide command. That way if you have a column that's a block, you use the divide command and it will evenly space the column on the pline.
