SgWRX
i feel like a dork for not looking this up before i "need" it, but why can't i get rgb values in an arch&design diffuse color swatch when i click on the color selector? for instance 192 red is what decimal value? must be a way to change it? thanks
SandmanNinja
Yes. Don't feel like a dork. Since the A&D materials use 0 to 1 values, there's a way around that (thank you, Bri at www.mentalboutmax.com !!) Open your material editor get your a&d material slot 'ready' open a 'blank' generic (non-A&D slot next to it) click the diffuse colour to enter the RGB values in the blank generic slot ok - the colour is now set. right-click the diffuse colour and then pick copy click and select the A&D shader material slot right-click on the COLOUR slot under the MAIN MATERIAL PARAMETERS rollout at the top and select paste ta da
Crazy Homeless Guy
I believe the A&D materials only work with floating point color settings. I haven't done any more research than that.
SgWRX
yeah that's about all i know so far. otherwise i was thinking some neat way to convert using 255 as a base number or something i've been copying and pasting and that's keeping me going. jackbird
Hit Ctrl-N with the spinner highlighted. This will pop up a window where you can enter mathematical expressions which will be pasted to the spinner on completion. type (yourvalue/255.0) to convert 8-bit to float, or (yourvalue*255) for the other direction.
