jccloutier
i made some changes to a max file, saved it and closed it. now i need to get it to the way it was before i made the changes but i don't remember what i changed. is there an equivalent to an event viewer within the max file? Ky Lane
Sorry dude. Do you have autobackup enabled? might be worth a look, see what files are in there.
Crazy Homeless Guy
like Ky said, check the autoback. this has saved me numerous times. i actually keep a shortcut to it because it is so valuable.
Chad Warner
If you saved on top of the original file, there should also be a maxback.max (i think) which would be a copy of the last saved file. Either way, autoback is key!
jccloutier
thanks guys. unfortunately, i turned off the autoback a while ago because it was 'annoying'. i'm not a smart person.
BrianKitts
if it's annoying you, try turning the autoback time interval up a bit. The default 5 min is ridiculous, I keep it at 20. Your other option (depending on your companies infrastructure) would be to pull a backup of your file server if your company is dilligent enough to keep all your data backedup. I've killed a couple models before and had to ask the IT department to dive into the server backups as much as a couple weeks back to pull an old model and save my butt.
