Ky Lane
Hey guys. Thought Id share this. This was an entire 2 bedroom apartment I had to model and render out stills for in 5 days, from scratch and just drawings and magazine snippets as reference. Theyre all direct renders, no PS work or anything - given time I would have cleaned them up alot more. I have 2 other apartments to model, with stills, then producinging DVD walkthrough for all 3... WEE! I know theyre far from perfect, and the client was one of those who turns up unannounced and goes "make the background brighter, its what theyre paying for" from over your shoulder. But hey, smile and charge Edited May 20, 2008 by Ky Lane

novelh
Nice! Do you buy most of your furniture or do you model it? Also how did you tuck the sheets around the mattress? Up to this point I have only been able to drape fabric.
e_cbautista
Ky Lane, nice renders, good lighting and materials for someone in a hurry. "Apple Dual Quadcore Xeon Mac Pro 3GHz" im just curious- is this your set up? may i ask what software (OS & 3d) you use? Maya runs on Mac, still i wonder what tools you use for your renders though. tertiaryjafo
hey, love the images. i'm working with an interior that has windows, outside ambient light, and direct light. i'm having trouble with the blotches caused by outside light and the reflective windows, even with LightCache and Irradience Map set high. what was your setup? jinsley
These look great, really like the textures on all the fabrics. Especially the blanket on the bed... Vray?

zeniamai
Very nice renderings... I like the textures and the lighting... Yes, the fabrics are really awesome. However, can you make your pillow a bit fluffy or is it supposed to be that way? I cant wait to see the final render.
pal1
very nice, did you lay the project out in a 2D package before going into 3ds? I'd like to know how other people organize and manage the process of doing interiors like this. I'm the only 3D guy where I work and have no one to advise me... I'm So Ronery So ronery So ronery and sadry arone There's no one Just me onry Sitting on my rittle throne I work rearry hard and make up great prans But nobody ristens, no one understands Seems like no one takes me serirousry And so I'm ronery A rittle ronery Poor rittle me There's nobody I can rerate to Feel rike a bird in a cage It's kinda sihry But not rearry Because it's fihring my body with rage I'm the smartest most crever most physicarry fit But nobody else seems to rearize it When I change the world maybe they'll notice me But until then I'rr just be ronery Rittle ronery, poor rittle me I'm so ronery
Ky Lane
Happy to help. Exported the floorplan as a JPG and applied it to a plane... resized to scale... Then just traced over the top pretty much.. Once you get that far, its Inevitabre....Inevitabre....Inevitabre! Goddamnit, open your fucking ears! ... ravi_chawda1981
Very nice work in this time limit man! As u tell to a ronery person, about importing the 2d drawing, i find importing Auto-cad drawing (first make the plan or whatever it may be, in one layer then import to the unit which the drawing draft in Auto-cad) In this method u can easily work snap to snap and i find it is more accurate and fast!! By the way its just my opinion, try it u find it easier!!! But at last your output matters in which u r the best, keep it up and inspire us in the same manner!!!
