landrvr1
Heya gents, I've got an interesting problem and thought I'd see if anyone could hazard to guess what's going on...? I've got an office interior scene that I'm working through. There's an acoustical tile ceiling, and the grid is a series of 1/4" wide planes that float just under the main ceiling plane. There's a VRay sun, HDRI, etc etc When I render out a frame of the animation on my home machine vs one of the Blades on the company farm, I get this: ... The ceiling grid is clearly the culprit here, but I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on. My home machine = no problems. Farm blade = problems. I've run a number of tests and have determined that it's not: 1. HDRI in the overall Environment slot. With out without, it does the same. 2. Cache Maps. I use IR and lC. Whether or not it's a straight file or using saved maps makes no difference. 3. Lighting. I've turned off my VRay sun and VRay plane lights in various combinations. No change. 4. Blade. I've tried this on several of the blades and the result is the same. It doesn't matter whether I do this as a still, or part of an animation using my saved IR/LC maps. I'm open to any suggestions here. It's a mystery! Edited June 27, 2008 by landrvr1
Thablanch
the angle of that line on the wall seems to matck the angle of your sun source. Could you have a light leak in the ceiling?? (does not solve the blade vs machine question...)
