Did anyone see Grand Designs on channel 4 last night (Wednesday). What an amazing source of inspiration. I've done a couple of screen grabs. Might visualise if for a bit of personal development soon.

The 3D Animation was very good, although no aesthetically pleasing and the Architect model was excellent.

Its my favorite program on at the moment. I like his annalagies of what the feel of the project is like. The thing that is rather annoying is never seeing the end of a project. So we have to watch them all over again in the revisited series, then get rewarded in the last 10 seconds of the finished peice!

Yeah that is an excellent programme.

I loved that building last night-that really was an Architect getting everything right.

I'd agree about the animations-for TV they are well below par.

Having worked in the building industry for years though I'm surprised we see any of the projects finished. As soon as the design involves anything other than standard bricks and window modules there's problems. In fact, I think the hitches are what makes the programme interesting. The least enjoyable one was last week when it all went smoothly!

Kevin McLoud (spelling?) is brilliant but I always think his little monologue at the end is a bit self indulgent and smug. Clearly loves design and construction though.

an impressive episode was the pre-fab'd German Huff house (spelling), errected and weather tight within 5 days!!!

it was sent over to the UK and built by the German builders too!

really put the uk building industry to shame they do.
