Tommy Burns
Have a read up on Multi/sub object materials and then map channels for the uvw mapping. This is exactly what you need but it's not that easy at first.
Logitek
Hello Karolis, What you are looking for is a Material called "Multi/Sub-Object". Do a search in the Max help, it is pretty well explained on how to use it. Cheers,
karolisbilz@yahoo.com
thnx a lot.....i thought it was that....i was just hoping that there is a function like in CAD where u hold ctr key and mark the plane of the object that u want ur texture on.....but that was a bit naive ( hope i spelled it right lol)
Logitek
Actually, if you go in sub-object mode "Polygon", select one (or several) polygon, and apply a new material, it will automatically create a multi/sub-object material for you... But it is always good to understand how things work, so by doing it manually, at least you understand what's going on. Good luck with this. I agree this was kind of hard to understand at the begining, but I really don't know how I would work without this material! Cheers,
