RobJBrewer
Hey I'm trying to do a comparison for work comparing the output from dialux to 3ds max design 2009 (30 day trial) with an aim to upgrade our versions, but have a few questions 1) With A&D mi materials how do I adjust the reflectance value for a material? I used to be able to use advanced lighting overide but lighting analysis dosn't like any other materials but mi. I just need to be able to tell it that the walls say have a reflectance value of 50% and so on. 2)Right now we have max9 does are there any differences between max 2009 & max design 2009? Is it like the old max & viz? Thanks for the help Rob

ramy
3DS Max 2009 is the software development kit, where 3DS Max 2009 Design includes lighting and weather analysis. The lighting analysis is in fact is recognized by LEED as a legitimate lighting analysis software and grants lighting analysis credits for using Max 2009 Design on building models. To find out more about using lighting analysis in max 2009 click here.
pailhead
I've started working at a lighting design company and we've got a bunch of max licences here. I'm used to normal max so i'm using 2011 here. Help says that there is a lighting analysis tool available, and it seems that it should work with radiosity, but i cant find it. Design 2011 has lighting analysis but it seems to be something mental ray related. Is it possible to get some numbers out of the radiosity solution? pailhead
This is the dialog i'm looking for. It's featured in max's help, but i cant find it. Design has something called assistant, which is not the same thing. huh?
