mirjama
Hi, I have a problem. I am new at vray, so please give me some advices. I have began to model a room, and at a beging I have stoped... This is a room just with a unfinished closet, till now, and there are some noise and dark lines at the ceiling and at a wall. It comes from yray lights which are placed at the windows. I tried everithing I knew, which is not to much:), but i can put them away only by excluding ceiling from vray lights. Is there other solution? And can you tell me will placement a glass panel at the window be a trouble for vray? I ask this becouse on one tutorial they didnt put a glass, just a vray light at a window. tayrona
hard to help without an image and some settings.... of course you can use glass in the window, a lot of people prefer to place light inside the room (leave a very small gap between glass and light)... light outside demands higher presets and render times

STRAT
first off remove all smoothing groups from the walls and ceilings. second, why not remove the window light and just use a regular vray light place outside further away? i personally steer clear from light portals as i find them slower, harder to control and just un natural. zeniamai
You can also exclude the glass from your vray light.
