clivengu
HI all, I started learning 3d with 3dmax 7 + Vray (older version) And everything works quite fine. After that due to many 3d models are kept in 3dmax 8, 9. and cant open with Max 7.. So I upgrade to 3dsmax 9 + Vray 1.5 on 32 bit After the upgrade... I find that the rendering time increase dramatically while the rendered quality decreased. Im using the standard rendering setting as I always used.. QMC... noise threshold 0.005 for final rendering. Last time my rendering maximun takes 6 hours to render a final 1500x900. Now it takes up to 12-24 hours to render one... with the same specs. Other than rendering time... I find that the image are getting seriously more noisy compare to before...Again with the same setting. Any know might know what is d problem im facing??? Thanks.. After upgrade im working very ineffectively.
bijoy
hmmm...im pretty sure u are doing something wrong. I dont think there is much difference in rendering times for old and new vray versions...not that far apart like u described it anyway. Maybe you could post an image to give us an idea of what u are rendering. In the new vray i usually dont change the noise threshold...i think default is .01. Its the subd and ligthing settings that need to be tweaked. and also i think if u have the old file settings u will need to put in new lights...im not sure bout this..but it could be a cause. i have encountered some problems in that situation getting some weird results and such. What i notice in both Vrays is The default setting for Noise threshold in Old vray is 0.005...While New vray is 0.01. And I usually change from 0.01 to 0.005 for final render cause that is the final setting i set usually. Will it b because Newer Vray noise 0.01= 0.005 in older vray that the rendering takes ridiculously long?
