HDRI lighting or sky??

I'm mostly interested in doing some HDR skydomes (since I enjoy capturing them as well). I have no idea how to use them as the exclusive lighting with mental ray? Anyone know how to do this? I tried using mr Physical Sky and adding the HDR to the background map but it doesn't seem to be actually lighting the scene...

ah I see.. so I assume I should use my low res IBL in the 'sky light' and my high res reflection map in the environment map slot... I also assume I should be turning GI on as well?
