Tommy Burns
Not a hope!! I wouldn't be able to keep up with all the problems that are posted in here in the vray forum:)
Dave Buckley
tommy i've just made the switch after using mr for nearly 3 years, and i think its pretty easy and quick transition before your knocking out good quality renders, still trying to master the interior shots a bit more but exteriors is as easy as mental ray, interiors a little bit trickier, the only thing i have found with vray is that there is way more ways to light each scene then there is in mental ray so you end up spending more time thinkin about which one is good. there are just far too many different setups all of which work well. but which one is the best . . . i guess i'l never know
Tommy Burns
Nor will I but I'm begining to realise that no mather what renderer you use the big differnce is what you can do in post. (channels, masks) By the way I think your moving from MR just as it is really progressing don't lose touch with it. Have you seen the new Mr materials site brilliant!! and I think this is just the start. I'd say there will always be a battle with renderers though:)
