Dave Buckley
I am currently using a render farm, everything is 32bit (manager machine and all the nodes/clients), however i am trying to render a large scene that will only run on 64 bit. What i am trying to do is leave the render farm as it is, but change one of the clients/nodes to 3ds max 64bit to render this job Is this possible

I don't think i understand your question.
Dave Buckley
yes the new client will be 64 bit machine running 64bit max the main problem is sending jobs from 32bit machine running 32 bit max to 64 bit machine running 64 bit max. i have heard that jobs sent by 32 bit machine will only send to 32bit nodes on the farm
Scott Dombrowski
My main workstation is 64bit and the rest of my farm is 32bit, and I can submit a 32bit job from my 64bit workstation. I don't know if you can go the other way... I haven't tried (I can't access the farm during the day, otherwise I'd give it a shot for you). I've had 32bit and 64bit versions of Max installed on the same machine before, so you should be able to just install the 64bit version without problems (assuming you have a 64bit OS on that node). Could you just open the job from that 64bit node and run it from there, no render farm involved?
adricorrea
Try going into the advanced option that appears in the window when you are submiting a job to the farm. In there it gives you an option to submit jobs to 32bit and 64bit machines
