Camby1298
When I press render, the normal routine goes: Translation Pass, Photon Emission pass, FG Pass, then Diffuse Pass. Although Ive had a couple scenes now that add an extra "Rendering" pass after the Photon Emission pass and before the FG pass. The Frame Buffer stays black and nothin comes to screen, and the process takes very long. When it reaches 100% it goes on to the FG pass (sometimes it will go up to 110%). Has anyone encountered or heard of this annoyance and how someone can resolve this issue? Thanks in advance.
shaneis
Check your Final Gather options, you probably have it precomputing the photon lookup. I can't ell you exactly where that is in Max, (I use Maya) but metalRay is mentalRay and there will be a setting to that effect. All the best, S. Camby1298
Thanks Shaneis, But that option is not checked on for mr. It seems to do with the photon emissions. If I have too high of a number of photons, its goes into this extra "Render" Stage before doing any FG pass. I dont know what mr is doing during this stage. Im trying to find what it is and how to avoid it.
