hendrix2430
Hi, can anyone briefly explain the difference between using a mix modifier to a arch mat or a blend mat right away? Say, I want to replicate a worn metal painted surface on a pot...I'd put a mix modifier to a chrome mat. In color one, a falloff for the tint, then in color two a rust map. Both controlled by a Perlin Marble map for instance. Would that work or would using a blend mat right off the bat? If so, why? Thanks! Claudio Branch
Hi, can anyone briefly explain the difference between using a mix modifier to a arch mat or a blend mat right away? To the best of my limited knowledge... Blend is a material type that allows you to combine other material types (Ex. Standard+Matte) Mix is particular map that allows you to combine other types of maps (Ex. Falloff+Noise). They behave the same way, but handle different entities (map or material). hendrix2430
I got back home and sure enough...this thread is pointless now. Blend is indeed for materials and mix is just more maps themselves. I could have sworn both were for maps AND materials, which is why I started the thread w/out checking first. Disregard this thread then...
