jameson101
Hello everyone. This is my first post on cgarchitect(finally). I must be honest, I was a bit nervous to post because I dont take crits to well. But I have grow up and now know you can learn nothing without the help of other. The Images are of a Kitchen Interior, I modeled and set up all lighting. In other words I did everything. Ive only been doing this scene for 3 days now and started from scratch. I used 3D max 2008 and Vray for materials, lights, camera and rendering. If you need me to post my Rendering setup to help you crit please let me know. I havent done any post work because I dont like doing photoshop work over and over on the same image.I can see so many issues with materials but please tell me what you see because I might of missed something. Thank you in advance and can wait to hear your comments
magnuscarta
Your apple melted Overall i like it - I would do some post work just to make the tint a bit warmer - shouldn't take you more than a minute. I would scale some of the textures a bit and I dont like the texture on the cutting board. Last thing that bugs me is the camera distortion in the first image - apply a camera correction modifier to the camera to fix it. Thats all my thoughts... and I share your feeling regarding crits of my work
Dave Buckley
i can tell you something. its a hell of a lot better than my first post was i like the images and agree with the previous comment about the camera correction. really simple to do if you don't know how. right click on the camera and then click on camera correction modifier the only other crit i have, forgive me if i'm wrong as i'm no interior design/style expert but it appears you have two styles going on in the design, the kitchen is quite contemporary/modern, whilst some other objects in the scene (placemats, stool seat covers) appear to be quite traditional and don't fit with the overall modern look to the kitchen. but then again this could just be down to my own personal tastes and my interpretation of good design but overall its good sorry spotted a couple more things - the cooker/oven face looks quite flat, almost as if it is a bitmap on a box, and the same for the fridge. Finally, in the second image what are the tall chrome cylinder like objects??? are they taps?? if so i'd say they look a bit stretched

jameson101
Thanks everyone for your comments magnuscarta: Its kewl to see a South African on here, i saw that apple before I posted on the net, thats funny I will sort that out. I am goint to do post work when the scene is finished. Yes I will put camera correction Modifier on. daveb867: I have never used a camera correction modifier before. I have no idea why but I now looking that the image I am ashamed. It really ruins the image. I see your point with the two styles i am useing. I didnt really think of it when I was busy doing it but I must say I see the two styles clashing quite a bit. I am not so good with materials yet but I am learning and experiance can only make you beta. Yes the tall cylinder thing is a tap. I will fix that. kippu: I will sort it out, thank you. I will post new renders early next week Thank you for your comments

illegalalieninbeijing
I like the first 2 posts you did better. The 3rd one seems to be a little over exposed. The first time I looked at you work, it seems that there is something wrong with the scale or proportions of the objects. Nevertheless, your overall modeling and rendering skills are quite good.
