Superfinicky
Does anyone out there know where I can find a step-by-step rendering tutorial for a complex scene in Max for someone who's never rendered using Max before? Any helps would be most appreciated!

STRAT
yes, and the tuts that come bundled with max give a great step-by-step render guide.
AJLynn
But rendering isn't for idiots. There's no one way to do it, you need some artistic sensibility and a lot of practice.
Fran
But rendering isn't for idiots... I don't know Andrew. I was drawn right in by the topic title. As has been suggested, there are tutorials that ship with max. Other places to look are Area and ScottOnstott.com. My very first suggestion is to start with simple scenes and work your way up. If you have 3 objects in a scene and something goes wrong, it's a lot easier to figure out what the problem is than when you have 100 or more.
