garethace
Contrary to the usual clean, shining computer generated whizz-bang images we do see in representations of urban spaces, the reality is often very, very different. The city of Dublin has only recently seen some of its better 'ghetto' architecture erased for the sake of corporate investment/greed. I feel it is important to record a little bit of it now and then for posterity. Here are some great examples from around the world. Spooky Japanesse dereliction is brought out graphically by some of the photography on this website. Somehow, i imaging this kind of dereliction was only found in first person shooter military pc games. http://kodansha.cplaza.ne.jp/hot/kobayashi/ I even managed to shot one or two old Modernist ambitious projects looking a bit down and out now. Anyone who is interested in the old ancient ruins of Asia and Mexico and places should check out this fellows site: http://boumad.revman.nl Or if your fancy just happens to be creepy lost somewhere in middle america, as in horrors such as Vampires, then try this one: http://www.lostamerica.com/lostframe.html Perhaps some day in the far distant future, photographs can look just as poignant as some of the 'masters' do to out eyes today. http://www.masters-of-photography.com/ Gareth.
