samp
I saw 5 CG images that predict the future looks of Ghent. It's all about the old fusion of Leie and Schelde that they want to recreate. But they also plan to take away roads and LOTS of parkingspots (exactly the ones I always park my car when I go to Ghent ... ) And replace them with parks and stuff ... What do you guys prefere, enough parking spots or carfree regions and having to take a bus? The CG images are looking good thou Trying to find them on the internet to show them here, cause I found them in the newspaper ... Nisus, maybe you have them? Maybe your company made them ... I actualy don't know ...
HeDaCoM
I vote for a very good and organized public transport. Putting parkings and more parkings will never solve the problem of parking. don't know the specific problem of Ghent but where I live there is a big problem with parkings. I would like to see those images.

nisus
Hi samp, I am very upset to hear that you probably missed the information of the city board to it's inhabitants during a meeting last tuesday evening. (In het provinciebestuur aan het zuid, de schelde-zaal) Very strange, but did you never heard of this project before? We did, as we presented our firm to the city board only a few days after the project was commisioned to another firm. It was a great lecture by lots of different people, very informative, extremely clear and well structured. They focused on a economical, touristic, commercial and a historic background. A 3d-animation - not made by our bureau - was also shown, which was basicly the first reason why we went to see it. The second reason was because I want to know what's going on in my hometown. I can't really rephrase what has been said because it was quite a lot. Maybe you got a press-report in the newspaper, but there is an article online on the city's webpage. Which newspaper did you see the pictures in btw? I took lots of pictures of the meeting as they showed many historical photograph's and maps. Pop in one day, and i'll show them to you. Their of a horrible quality, but great to see what it's all about. You'll find more information at: www.gent.be www.archimago.be (i got a wrong link) rgds nisus
samp
Where is it located on the site (http://www.gent.be) I can't find it I knew that they are building a port, cause I went to school at that location. I also knew that they wanted to open 'de Schelde' again, but I didn't think that whould be for now ... Also I didn't know that even 'de Hondemarkt' would dissapear. I'm just affraid that it will be a second 'de Zuid' ... It isn't any pleasing overthere, too artificial! I hope it becomes what we want it to become, and not another crimescene where you cannot pass by at 11 'o Clock cause of all the bandits gathering around. I realy like renovation, but most of the time the city just ruins those places, so they become very artificial. Btw, I'll deffinatily try to stop by your office!
