Premiere Elements Question

Recommended Posts

This is the typ. way that I compile an animation together using PE.

1. Render each sequence as an AVI from Max. 720x486

2. Render TIFF still frames. ( I add text in PS to fade in and out )

3. Bring in all the above and put it together.

4. Export movie to AVI.

When I play the AVI's I created in Max on their own, they are nice a crisp. When I compile everything in PE the animation then gets burry, and not crisp and smooth. This has been driving me crazy for the longest time.

I've tried about every setting while exporting, and I've only been somewhat successful with the following.

Microsoft DV AVI

Compressor: DV (NTSC)

Frame Rate: 29.97

Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV NTSC (0.9)

Does anyone have any advice for me?

Also at this time, any other compositing software is not the answer.

Thanks for any help

Ok I found somewhat of a solution but I don't understand the reasoning.

I tried playing it with different players.

1. Quicktime player: Just sucked. It was so blurry that I couldn't read anything.

2. Windows Media Player: Still blurry but you could at least read the text.

3. Nero Showtime: Now this is exactly how I want it to play. The text is crisp, and the animation runs smoothly.

Now my concern is that everyone that plays the animation is not going to have nero. I would love the animation to play good on a standard windows player that anyone can use.

Any thoughts?

Could QuickTime and Windows Media Player being enlarging the video display (zoom)?

Text will become really ugly with anti-aliasing when you look at it too closely.

I tested each one at 100% resolution, @ 720x486. Then I did a full screen for all 3.
