DennisB
I posted this in the tutorial section, only as part of another thread. The deal is sufficiently good, however, that I thought it might be worthwhile posting here too. I bought the Painter 8 upgrade version for $76.xx today. From what I understand, the upgrade price applies to Photoshop users as well (check to make sure). Several other vendors have it at $85, so the pricing isn't entirely unique. Still, it's $50-60 less than the catalogs. Use CNET's shopping search. The price is very good, particularly now that the 8.1 patch is available. I understand the CD contains both Mac and Win versions as well. Painter's ability to tile brush strokes, rotate brush nibs and textures, and create bump effects make it worthwhile for anyone working with textures in 3D. Finally, this is a FYI only. While we do make products supporting Painter, I have no contact with Corel or its vendors. It's just a good deal. Good luck, Dennis@DigArts
nisus
Hi Dennis, Indeed painter8 is available at it's upgrade price for photoshop users. Although the website claims the deal is US only, it's also available in Europe. Just contact a dealer in your area. While painter might seem a long way for many architectural visualisers at first, it's not that far away from npr, still a hot cg topic. Be sure to test the demo rgds nisus
